This is my site @ Wincustomize
OK!, Here's a question from a guy in his mid-forties who now needs reading glasses. Anyone know where the registry key is to change the size of either the small or large size, doesn't matter which. AS I said the small size is just too small & the large size is way more than needed. I'm talking about the user pane side of the start menu. I have geeked on the internet & in the registry here for about 2 hours now trying to find it but haven't yet, so I'm looking for help from all the customizing whizzes out there.

Cant you adjust that in display properties with the "Menu" font size?

in ME the option for font size was in display settings, advanced, usually on the first tab, you could globally force the font to whatever percent you needed.
of course it sometimes screws with the size of the windopane. Had it set at 110% for my dad, and on his 14" screen you had to drag windows all over the place to get to the buttons or text you wanted. but he could see it better at that size.

maybe this will take care of it.

User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]
Value Name: Shell Icon Size
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: Size in Pixels (Default = 32)

Create a new value named 'Shell Icon Size' and set the value, or modify the existing value, to equal the size of your icons in pixels. Smaller values = smaller icons!

Messing with the registry can be a risky business. Backup any keys that you are going to change.... before you change them.

That key will change the size of icons on your desktop. It is the radio button in display properties>effects>Use large icons.
I'm looking for the XP start menuicon size. In start menu & taskbar properties it says "select an icon size for your programs" ..."Use large icons" or "Use small icons" The small are 16x16 the large are 48x48. I want 32x32
